Dr Robert (summer 1993 - February 1994)

In January 1993 Michael, Anders and I were about to make an accoustic trio, and Anders and I were also looking for a new keyboard player for a new band, when I suddenly got a job in Copenhagen, and had to change plans all of a sudden.
Instead I contacted Johnnie McCoy, who lived in Copenhagen, to see if he was interested in making a new band. Johnnie was very keen on playing live, and we decided to make a two-stringed band, with a performing edge, playing mainly accessible covers (as the name suggests), and an experimental edge, playing our own compositions. We recruited Jens Elbøl, who has been a musician since the sixties. Among other things, he has played with 70'ies danish prog band Midnight Sun and with guitarist Sam Mitchell.
However, as the accessible stuff to my disappointment became entirely dominant, and my newborn daughter took a lot of time, I quit this band in February.

Demo tape December 1993

  1. She said, she said (Lennon/McCartney)
  2. Black Dog (J.Page/R.Plant/J.Paul Jones)
  3. Nothing is Easy (Ian Anderson)
  4. Carrie (Frank Carvalho)

Recorded in Eugens Ballroom rehearsal rooms, Copenhagen, Dec. 1993.

Carrie is a leftover from Bob's Your Uncle that never recorded it. As Dr Robert played similar kind of music, it was natural to play it here as well.
